Wagyu Burgers & Hot Dogs - The Next Level

Our new Wagyu Hamburgers and Wagyu Hot Dogs are truly the best burgers and dogs I’ve had- full flavored and juicy, delivering an exceptional grilling experience. Our Wagyu hamburgers and hot dogs are a blend of 50% American Wagyu and 50% Certified Angus Beef, perfect for your outdoor grill. High heat and a little salt and pepper, a buttered and toasted brioche bun, ketchup and mustard, and you’ll have a fantastic umami filled burger. Throw some of our Wagyu hot dogs on the grill, allowing them to blister slightly before nestling them inside a soft, slightly toasted bun, add some spicy mustard, and you’re in hot dog heaven…

But what if I told you these outstanding burgers and dogs could become even more amazing? What if I told you that your guests would certainly be happy with a beautifully grilled Wagyu hamburger or hot dog, but would be BLOWN AWAY if you added one more layer of flavor and complexity? Well, if you’re still reading, I’ll take it as a, “yes, please!”.  The following suggestions are for taking your burgers and hot dogs to the next level.

Quick Chi Slaw

This is a quick and easy riff on kimchi and will add loads of flavor to your Wagyu Hamburger or Wagyu Dog. Sliced cabbage, carrots, and scallion tossed with a sriracha or similar chili paste, splash of rice vinegar, salt and pepper and sesame seeds will create a spicy, crunchy slaw that’ll take you straight to flavor city! Customize your slaw with added red cabbage, bell peppers, cucumber, or even peanuts! Once all ingredients have been mixed allow the slaw to sit for an hour or so allowing the cabbage to soften slightly and the flavors to blend.

Esquites

By now you’ve heard, seen, and probably eaten Elotes, or Mexican street corn. Well this next topping is similar, except esquites is served as a side salad, with the grilled corn taken off the cob. Fresh shucked corn grilled or sauteed, mayonnaise, sour cream, cotija cheese, cilantro, and squeeze of lime help to deliver a unique and delicious topping to your Wagyu hamburger or hot dog. Again, customize your burger or dog with the addition of guacamole and salsa to really show your guests you’re committed!

Candied Bacon and Pickled Jalapeno

This sweet and spicy combo can almost be a side dish in itself! Sweet and salty bacon, sour spicy jalapeno, piled onto your savory Wagyu hamburger or Wagyu hot dog will have your tastebuds firing on all cylinders. Sprinkle some brown sugar on bacon slices and bake in a 400° oven for 18 minutes until caramelized and sticky sweet (experiment with a drizzle of maple syrup or honey in addition to the brown sugar). Serve full slices with pickled jalapeno on your Wagyu burger, or chop bacon and pickled jalapeno for your Wagyu hot dog, and you may never go back to good ol’ sauerkraut again.

Condiments

You have to have ketchup, mustard and mayo, of course. But mayonnaise is also a great base to create a multitude of spreads—you can add things such as sriracha; smoked paprika; chopped chipotle peppers; chopped pickles; hot sauce; balsamic; chopped pimento; fresh herbs such as basil or cilantro; or even your favorite bbq sauce.

And finally, let’s not forget deliciously melted cheeses. Don’t judge me, but I love American on my burger or dog. But there is also Monterey, pepper jack, a great aged cheddar, gruyere (great with some onion caramelized with some thyme or tarragon for a French Onion Burger or Dog), fresh Mozzarella, or Gouda (properly pronounced How-da), to name a few.

As I mentioned, our Wagyu hamburgers and Wagyu hot dogs are excellent, but there are plenty of options to make them beyond excellent! Don’t be afraid to experiment with flavors and combinations, and as always, Explore your Inner (grilling) Chef!
