Up Your Game Day Food
Watching football isn’t just about the game. It’s about the passion for your team, commercials, an excuse to host family and friends, and gathering to enjoy a good bite to eat. Synonymous with chicken wings, nachos, and buffalo dip, who doesn’t love fun football food? And while I agree it’s not just a party without some pigs in a blanket, I also think football season is a great opportunity to “up your game” in the tailgate food arena.
MVP of Game Day Food
South African Lobster Tails
2 x 6 oz.
Picture your traditional sandwich platter for the game. Ham, swiss, turkey, roast beef…the list of usual components goes on. But just think how you can be the MVP of game day food when you serve sustainably caught South African Lobster Tail sliders to your guests! Not only is it different from the normal football recipes, but also, it’s an item that probably hasn’t frequently been served at previous football watch parties. That right there is a home run…er, touchdown!
Japanese A5 Wagyu Sliders
A5 Wagyu New York Strip | Kagoshima
1 x 5 oz.
Hamburger sliders on your menu? Another staple seen at many a tailgate. However, you can stun your guests (as many viewers were stunned during some playoff games this year) and serve Japanese A5 Wagyu sliders. A simply seared A5 Wagyu NY Strip steak, sliced thinly and placed on top of eggs and cheese, served on potato roll, with cracked black pepper, and your guests will be celebrating more than just their favorite team. This is a fun football recipe.
Bacon Wrapped Octopus
Potato skins with bacon making an appearance again this year? Yum, but also yawn. Let’s get a rookie in the lineup this year with bacon wrapped octopus! Tender octopus wrapped in crisp bacon, served with lemon zest and a drizzle of balsamic is sure to have your guests doing a little end zone dance of their own!
Wagyu Steak Tacos
A5 Wagyu Filet Mignon | Kagoshima
1 x 5 oz.
Chilean Sea Bass Tacos
Chilean Sea Bass Filets
2 x 8oz.
Lastly, change up the normal party food menu of chicken, beef or pork tacos with two different ideas for a more chef-inspired dish! Wagyu steak tacos with carrots and pickled onions coleslaw are a new twist. Or try blackened Chilean Sea Bass tacos, topped with pickled pineapple and red onion, also getting cheers from the fans.
No matter which team you root for, watching football with friends and family, eating tailgate food, and simply enjoying the atmosphere with your guests is the best game day experience. So get excited to plan your football food recipes with The Seasoned Carte!
