‘Tis the Season

By The Seasoned Carte

There are some who talk about seasons in the way of winter, spring, summer, and fall. And then there are those that refer to seasons in the way of football, holiday, baseball, and grilling season. And here we are, gearing up for grilling season! Gas, propane, charcoal, or live fire- here in the US people love the idea of cooking outside on a grill. And while you can cook just about everything on your grill- vegetables, seafood, chicken, even pizza, at the end of the day when we think of Memorial Day, Father’s Day, July 4th, and Labor Day we’re usually visualizing a good old American Hamburger and Hot Dog kind of grilling- complete with ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut, potato salad, macaroni salad, and checkered tablecloths to round out the picture.
Except this year, let’s change the picture a little. We won’t change the things you love- hamburgers and hot dogs- we’ll simply offer something better! I’m talking about the juiciest, umami rich and delicious hamburgers and hot dogs you’ve ever had- Wagyu Burgers and Wagyu Dogs! Our Wagyu burgers and Wagyu hot dogs are free from antibiotics and hormones and deliver an amazing combination of 100% full blood domestic Wagyu beef blended with ground 100% Certified Angus Beef, creating an experience so rich and full of flavor you may never want to go back to your preformed, star shaped patty or nitrate laden hot dog.
While we never recommend you cook our Japanese A5 Wagyu over an open flame, our Wagyu burgers are different. In order to provide a highly marbled, rich wagyu burger suitable for the grill, we purposely do not use A5 grade. Using A5 grade Wagyu in a burger would make it very difficult to grill over an open flame without excessive flare ups, which will lead to a burnt and acrid tasting burger. Our Wagyu burgers, because they contain domestic wagyu (still beautifully marbled, blended with Certified Angus Beef) can cook up on your grill just like a ‘traditional’ burger…only 100% better! Same holds true for our Wagyu hot dogs! So now when it comes to summer grilling, you can have your Wagyu, and eat it too!
Add some heat to your Wagyu burger with a spice rub! Additionally, for a different type of rich flavor, try grilling your Wagyu hotdogs and hamburgers on grilling planks.  Some favorites include mesquite, hickory and peach wood grilling planks. Soak them in water for about 2 hours before using. While our Wagyu burgers and Wagyu hot dogs will cook just like ordinary burgers and dogs, I promise you the flavor will be anything but ordinary! Enjoy!  -Chef Chris
